Materials Pledge FAQs

Is there a template available for organizing and tracking data for Materials Pledge Reporting?
Yes. There are pdfs of the questions shared via the A&D Materials Pledge Peer-to-Peer Network, in the library section. There is also a product reporting excel template shared in the Peer-to-Peer Network in the “Library” section. To join the Peer-to-Peer Network please see these instructions.

Do I report my firm-level responses separately from my project- and product-level responses?
Yes. There are separate links within the OpenWater platform to enter and submit your firmwide questions separately from your project and product questions.

How does AIA plan to share the industry reporting data and trends?
AIA will release a report each year summarizing high level takeaways and data trends. These reports are titled Materials Pledge By the Numbers reports and previous iteration can be viewed for free on AIA’s website.  

I have suggestions for the Materials Pledge or the reporting process, how do I share these?
We will be sending a survey after the reporting period closes for to all signatories for feedback. If additional ideas come up between reporting cycles, you can always email materials@aia.org.  

My colleague is now responsible for our reporting, how do I change our primary firm contact?
To update, please email materials@aia.org as soon as you know of any upcoming changes or for reporting assistance.

Can more than one person collaborate on a submission?
Yes. Use the “Manage Collaborators” at the top right of your submission form to add collaborators, however only the primary collaborator will be allowed to submit.
