Adding a Contact to a Knowledge Community

At this time, individuals are unable to add themselves to a Knowledge Community. Member Services and Product Success will need to individually add Contacts to different KCs as needed.

Step-by-step guide

From a Contact record in Fonteva:

  1. Scroll down to "Higher Logic" and flag "HL is Active" checkbox (first screenshot).
  2. Scroll down to "Member Groups" and select the KCs the Contact wants to join (second screenshot).
  3. Select Save.
  4. Go to Related tab on Contact record.
  5. Scroll down to Community Group Members box.
  6. Select "New".
  7. In dialog box, search for Community Group (third screenshot).
    1. Must search using full committee name, not acronym.
  8. Select Save.
    1. "Activated Date" will default to current date upon Save.

  • The sync between Fonteva and Higher Logic can take up to an hour.
  • If a Contact requests to be removed from a KC, you can edit the KC and add an End Date on the record.
