The 2030 Commitment underpins AIA’s support of the2030 Challenge, which acknowledges the significant role of the built environment in climate change and sets a goal of carbon neutrality for all new buildings, developments, and major renovations by 2030. The 2030 Commitment provides a framework to meet this goal as participating firms work toward progressively increasing carbon reduction targets.

2030 Commitment signatory firms report on progress annually through the Design Data Exchange (DDx), with data for projects due by March 31st of the following year. The DDx was created by AIA to provide a standardized reporting format for measuring progress both at the firm and national levels. The DDx also serves as a research tool, allowing confidential comparison of project performance based on type, size, climate, and many other attributes.

These help pages and how-to articles are meant to provide guidance as you and your firm navigate the DDx. If you need additional information on the DDx or the 2030 Commitment, please do not hesitate to contact the AIA 2030 Commitment Team at2030Commitment@aia.org.
