Salesforce has seasonal mandatory updates. System administrators will be notified of when updates are applied to sandboxes and production environments in advance of the push.

The production environment is critical to monitor.  During seasonal updates, maintenance messages on systems dependent on Salesforce (e.g., checkouts screens on renewal/join) should be updated.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Go to Setup
  2. Search for "Company Information"
  3. The current Instance is in the lower right of the Organization information
  4. Go to https://status.salesforce.com/ and select "Salesforce Services" on the left navigation
  5. Look for the server instance we are currently on
  6. Select the "Maintenance" tab and our upgrade window will be shown in the calendar

There are usually 3 major seasonal releases by Salesforce each year. Fonteva has 2-3 major seasonal releases.

Fonteva releases are manually applied, Saleforce releases are mandatory and applied automatically by Salesforce.
